Monopoly Board

The Monopoly Challenge

from : Look the Future Straight in the Eye

  1. Play One Game of Monopoly -- Fast, Fast, Fast

When you press the "Play Another Game" button at the top of the frame, four virtual players play a very fast game of Monopoly. Displaying the result actuarially takes much longer than the playing of the game so you may have to wait a few seconds. (The Play Another Game button will turn dark gray until the new display is ready.)

If you like, you can then follow their moves play-by-play by moving pieces on a standard Monopoly board and keeping track of the cash with a calculator.

Each player has 15 preferences that can be set to effect its play. The radio buttons across the top of the frame let you select the type of player preferences you want:

    1. Repeat -- Run the same preferences again in the next game.
    2. Random -- Generate new Random preferences.
    3. Good -- Run a set of preferences that have been found to be a good fit to the Rich-Get-Richer Rule.
    4. Better -- Run a set of preferences that have been found to be a better fit to the Rich-Get-Richer Rule.
    5. Best -- Run a set of preferences that have been found to be a best fit to the Rich-Get-Richer Rule.

With this software we now have a powerful tool for studying the Rich-Get-Richer Rule in a game people know and love. There is much work to be done.

For security reasons, the Web versions does not save the files to your disk. If you are interested, e-mail me for the complete application software, which does save to disk.
